Not in a mean-spirited way, I think. Just that kind of "Oh those crazy kids. What are they thinking now." sort of way. I thought things were going to calm down a bit and get back to normal, but no such luck. My 92 year old grandma was sick this week, but she seemed to be feeling better on Saturday. I called her on Monday, and her phone rang and rang, and she never picked up. My mom and I went over there, and she wasn't answering the door, but we could hear her calling out. We ended up calling 911--2 firetrucks and an ambulance showed up. Major excitement at the retirement apartment complex she lives in.
She seemed to think that she had tried calling me, my mom, and my sister Sunday night and all day Monday to tell us she was sick, but said that no one answered. But none of us got any calls. Also she was on her bed and couldn't get up, and the phone is in the kitchen where she couldn't have reached it. She was very disoriented at the hospital and couldn't answer questions like what day is it, what's the year, things like that. My mom and I called Life Alert and ordered one for her today. We don't want this to happen ever again.
She's in the hospital right now. She's feeling better, but still a little confused. She is determined to live independently, and I want her to be happy, but we're concerned for her. We're going to see about getting her some in-home help. She doesn't want us to personally take care of her--she says she doesn't want to be a burden. She doesn't mind having paid help; I think because she still feels independent in a way.
In other news, I started refashioning my capri pants into a skirt. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I think it's coming along. I'm having a problem with the front where the bottom of the fly is--it is pooching out, which looks funny. I've got an idea though. I really wanted to get it done yesterday, but God had other plans for me. Oh well.

Beginning...sort of

Okay, so I'm official. I'm all signed up and added and my first post has been made at Wardrobe Refashion. For the next 2 months, I'm going to do my best to make/remake some new clothes for myself. We'll see how it goes.
I just watched a great movie today called Kamikaze Girls. You should check it out. I've watched a few Japanese movies lately, and I also recommend Train Man (Densha Otoko) and Linda, Linda, Linda.
